Eigenlaut

Every Gmail signature, on brand.

Design one template. Eigenlaut fills it from your Google Workspace directory and keeps every mailbox in step, automatically.

30 days free, no card required.

Starter template
Brand colour

Rendered live by Eigenlaut’s template engine, the code that writes your signatures to Gmail.

Hand-made signatures drift apart.

People copy an old signature, keep a former job title or add a quote of their own. Eigenlaut writes one design for everyone, filled from the directory you already keep up to date.

Three people, three improvised signatures: an outdated title, an old domain, no company details.

With Eigenlaut

The same three people: one template, filled from the directory.

From the Admin console to every inbox in three steps.

  1. 1

    Connect Google Workspace

    A super admin authorises Eigenlaut’s service account for three scopes in the Admin console, then signs in with Google and verifies the connection. No app to install, no consent screen for your people.

    API controlsManage Domain Wide Delegation

  2. 2

    Design your signature

    Start from four templates or paste your own HTML. Placeholders fill from the directory, and rules pick the template for each team.

    {FullName}
    {#if JobTitle}{JobTitle}{/if}
    {CompanyName}
  3. 3

    Roll it out

    A dry run shows every change per user. Then apply, and switch on the daily sync for new starters, new titles and hand edits.

Templates, rules and rollouts in one dashboard.

Templates with placeholders

Start from four starters or paste your own HTML. Fields like {JobTitle} and {PhoneNumber} fill from Google’s directory, and {#if} blocks leave out empty lines.

<b style="color:{PrimaryColor}">{FullName}</b><br>
{#if JobTitle}{JobTitle}, {/if}{CompanyName}<br>
{#if MobileNumber}M {MobileNumber}{/if}

Rules for every team

Choose the template by organisational unit, group, department or address. The first matching rule wins, and a rule can leave people out.

Campaign banners

Add a banner for a launch or an event, with a start and an end date, for everyone or one team. It goes in and out with the next run.

Dry runs before anything changes

See for every user which signatures would change, then apply. Results of each run stay for 90 days.

Signatures stay the way you designed them

When someone edits their signature in Gmail, the next run puts the company version back and records it. With the daily sync, new starters and new titles follow within a day.

Three scopes. No access to your mail.

Your super admin authorises Eigenlaut for exactly three Google scopes through domain-wide delegation, and can revoke them at any time in the Admin console.

  • Directory users, read only

    admin.directory.user.readonly

    Lists your users and reads the fields signatures use: name, job title, department, phone numbers, work location, custom fields and whether someone is an admin.

  • Gmail basic settings

    gmail.settings.basic

    Reads each user’s send-as addresses and changes one field: the signature. It never touches filters, forwarding or any other setting.

  • Group members, read only

    admin.directory.group.member.readonly

    Reads the members of the groups you use in rules or campaign targets, and only those.

Never accessed

  • Messages and attachments
  • Drive, Calendar and other apps
  • Changes to your directory

Stored at rest

Addresses with run results, hashes of signatures, and organisational unit paths and departments for the rule editor. No names, job titles or phone numbers, and no IP addresses.

Questions, answered

Something else? Write to us, or read the security overview.

What can Eigenlaut access in our Google Workspace?

Only what three scopes allow: reading directory users, reading group members, and reading and updating Gmail signature settings. Your super admin grants them in the Admin console through domain-wide delegation, and Eigenlaut uses them only for the addresses your own directory lists.

Does Eigenlaut read our email?

No. None of the three scopes gives access to messages, attachments, Drive or Calendar. Eigenlaut reads the send-as addresses of each user and writes one setting: the signature.

What happens when someone edits their signature by hand?

The next run puts the company signature back and records it in the run results. With the daily schedule switched on, that happens within a day.

Where is our data stored?

The hosted edition runs on Cloudflare (Workers, a D1 database and Queues); the database and the queue are in Cloudflare’s EU jurisdiction, and billing runs through Stripe. The database keeps addresses with run results, hashes of signatures, the organisational unit paths and departments for the rule editor and the organisation’s e-mail domains for sign-in, but no names, job titles or phone numbers. Self-hosted, everything stays in your own Cloudflare account, in the EU jurisdiction if you choose it.

Can we host Eigenlaut ourselves?

Yes, for free. The self-hosted edition is the same code on your own Cloudflare account, with your own Google service account and no billing. The documentation has the guide.

Can we cancel at any time?

Yes. You cancel the subscription in the billing portal, which you open from the dashboard. Live updates to Gmail stop when the subscription ends, and the organisation is deleted with all of its data 30 days later unless you subscribe again. You can delete it yourself at any time, which cancels the subscription too. To cut access at once, delete Eigenlaut’s client ID in the Admin console under Security › Access and data control › API controls › Manage Domain Wide Delegation.
